Locație, peisaj,

Mâncare foarte putina și scumpă, nimic special, strângeau totul de pe masa înainte sa pună felul următor. Plimbarea cu căruță este 25 EUR de persoana intr o caruta de carat fanul plină de praf și foarte inconfortabile. prosoape pătate, bai uzate, așternuturi umede, perne din puf de Gasca, saltele pătate, păienjeni in camera, personalul pleacă seara astfel a trebuit sa ne facem singuri focul, nu am putut servi nimic după ora 20.

Pe drumul de acces nu am gasit nici un indicator , ceea ce ne-a facut sa credem ca am gresit sau ne-am ratacit . Ultima portiune de drum este prin padure , un fel de drum forestier . Trecand peste teama de inceput am ajuns intr-un loc pitoresc si linistit , exact ce cautam: fara telefon , internet sau televizor . Gazdele foarte ospitaliere si deschise la orice dorinta a noastra . Peisajul este de vis . Multumim!

A by the book restaured house, we had the feeling we were in a Roumanian Village Museum. Very quiet, very nice and helpfull staff. The food was OK, but only one option for dinner. A true paradise but the final part of the road to resort was like hell (7 km) - if you don't have a good car, it is a veritable challange.

The place is just amazing. Everything looks so natural and traditional. From the rooms with all the decorations and furniture to every single detail. The surroundings are wonderful. I really think that this is the most beautiful place in the whole country. The staff is paying attention to your needs and they are doing their best to make you feel comfortable.

Description

Zalánpatak (Valea Zălanului) was founded about 400 years ago by the Kálnoky’s as a glass manufacture in the middle of the forest. The manufacture was closed in the early 1900s but around 150 persons still live there today. The Prince of Wales owns the property that had originally been built for the former ‘judge’ who was overseeing the manufacture and the village. It is composed of several buildings, and has a patch of forest and extensive flower meadows with mineral springs and small brooks belonging to it. The property is characterized by its rich biodiversity of plants, mushrooms, insects, birds and large mammals including bears (sometimes crossing the back yard). Wolves can be heard howling at times in winter nights.

Guests are being looked after by local staff and the resident ecologist. Activities depend on the season and range from bear-tracking over horse & cart excursions, wild flower botany, mushroom picking, hiking, etc… to simply relaxing in one of the most harmonious surroundings.
